It's springtime in Manchester, and at Apocalypse Ink that means the spring flash event. Every year, the artists work together to create flash sheets themed around spring and offer the tattoos at a set, discounted price. This year, most of the designs are floral in nature.

Lena is the no-nonsense co-owner of Apocalypse Ink, a tattoo studio run by queer people with the express intention of being a safe space for their community. She's sharp, direct, and deeply passionate about her work to the point where her dedication rubs some people the wrong way. Or maybe that's just her personality - she really doesn't care either way.

Lena owns the studio with her trans husband Bjorn, both of whom hail from Sweden and moved to Manchester together. They got married before Bjorn realized he was trans, but chose to stay together in a platonic marriage after he came out as a man. She still considers him her best friend and to some extent the love of her life, though there are no romantic entanglements between them anymore. Anyone who wants to be in her life simply has to accept that Bjorn is part of that package.

They're both fully on board with dating other people and having relationships as if they were single. They're friends who happen to be married.

I wouldn't consider it cheating since they agree it's okay, but that depends on your definition of cheating. Thus, it's mentioned here but not specifically tagged because it is not a foundational part of the plot.
