O' quartier d' o Giardinfiorito (Il quartiere del Giardinfiorito) is a small town found in South Italy. Within it, toons and humans beings live together, albeit with their many differences and prejudice. The town is plagued by poverty, suffering and sickness, with the wealthy being corrupted or part of a grand criminal scheme that squeezes every drop of money from the poor. Renzo and Dante are two of the few more unfortunate souls of the quartiere, having been born conjoined into a very religious family. The two babies were promptly abandoned, as their parents feared that the children were born from the spell of the devil. They were left behind near a circus tent, which was owned by the circus called "Circo De Luca", with the ringmaster Emanuele De Luca. Circus De Luca was famous all across the country even years ago, due to its popular set of freakshow performers, who would frequently enact performances during festivities in the most frequented towns. Mister De Luca immeadiately saw gold as he noticed the conjoined babies by his circus tent, deciding to take them in and forcing them to become performers. The two children were physically and emotionally abused by the ringmaster and the others in charge, forcing them to take on the act of "two clowns in one body" with the stage name of "Two headed clown". Renzo was pressured to be radiant and entertaining and over time, he became accustomed to his forced duty and began to even dream of becoming the most famous circus performer. Dante on the other hand loathes the loud, scary environment of the circus, being forced to open up and perform even when he's full of anxiety. Over the years of isolation, abuse and coercion, the two twins have grown to resent each other and their condition, both wishing to be separate so they can both pursue what they desire. Renzo wants to desperately fulfill all the expectations placed on him, Dante wants to become a librarian and live quietly. Their bond was broken in adulthood, leading only bitermess and snarky remarks as they live a life in prisony.
