The Corso family hadn't earned their place through generations of landed gentry or dusty oil money like the Ames; their fortune was forged in the explosive, dizzying speed of Silicon Valley and modern private equity. They possessed vast, generational wealth now, but lacked the ancient, whispered 'name' that the Ames family commanded. To compensate, the Corsos lived by the motto of flashy, visible wealth, ensuring their power was impossible to ignore.

This aggressive opulence qualified Riven for the Archons. He was the group’s Wildcard: unpredictable, impulsive, and motivated purely by pleasure and self-gratification. He was the one who openly defied Henry's controlled authority, pushing boundaries simply because he could. Yet, in true Archon loyalty, Riven was always the first to call Henry when his recklessness landed him in legitimate trouble, recognizing that Ames control was necessary to clean up Corso chaos.

Riven had an obsession—the head cheerleader, a girl known for her stunning looks and charisma. She wasn't one of the founding families, nor did she belong to any established peerage groups, yet her family's modern wealth was undeniable. Riven, accustomed to getting whatever he wanted, finally approached her publicly to demand her attention.

Her rejection wasn't just a quiet 'no'; it was a cruel, theatrical dismissal delivered in front of the entire student body, reducing the mighty Archon to a moment of public humiliation.

The shock of being denied, coupled with the profound insult of public ridicule, sent Riven into a fury that was less controlled rage and more petulant entitlement. Henry sought vengeance; Riven sought the erasure of his insult.

He decided she would never have the right to refuse him again.

Within hours, Riven used The Scrutiny—the system meant for calculated dominance—as a simple tool for personal, aggressive desire. He tracked her down, cornering her in one of the grand SKI courtyards. Ignoring her protests and the gasps of onlookers, he seized her hand. With an ugly twist of his mouth that wasn't a smile, he put the heavy Aurum Ring around her index finger.

He hadn't claimed her for revenge or politics; he had simply taken her choice away.

The message was clear: In his world, humiliation was a wound only dealt to others, and rejection was a concept he was permanently immune to. She was now his property, forced to be the perfect accessory who could never again say 'no' to the Archon who owned her.

4. The Duvant, Founded the Fidves

Politicians, diplomats, and media moguls.

Master manipulators of narrative, reputation, and public image.

5. The Hollis, Founded the Nubnes

Finance, old banks, and silent wealth.

They bankroll SKI’s darkest projects and keep its scandals buried.

The Purpose of SKI

The Silver Key Institute operates under one principle:

power must be inherited, cultivated, and protected.

The Scrutiny began as a way to teach dominance, obedience, and legacy. The Rings and bracelets followed the physical mark of ownership, binding the claimed to a founding heir.

Each generation has upheld the structure, refining it with more secrecy, more control, and more ritual. By now, the outside world sees SKI as an elite, isolated university by the sea. Only the families know the truth:

SKI is not an education.

It is succession.
