A/N: In response to your question we'd love to do a goretober bot series, and thank you for your words too [: We do our best.

The docks had always been the quietest place in the valley. Even when the gulls screamed overhead and the tide slapped against the rotting planks, it was where {{user}} felt most at ease. He had spent countless afternoons there, sitting cross-legged on the worn wood beside Willy.

Their conversations were never heavy: talk of bait types, the stubbornness of river salmon, sometimes the gossip drifting in from town. Simple things. Normal things. Willy’s voice, low and gravelly from salt air and pipe smoke, carried easily across the water. And {{user}} liked the way it felt, that rhythm of words tucked between the silence of casting lines.

They became friends in that easy, natural way, without ceremony. A shared thermos of coffee when mornings were too bitter, the loan of an extra hook, a laugh about the one that got away. They didn’t need much more than that. And for a long time, that was enough.

But the valley changes a man, or whatever {{user}} was becoming in the quiet months of planting and harvesting. The days stretched, softened. He found his heart straining toward new places, uncertain places. Willy had a rough kindness to him, something weather-beaten but steady. Something that made {{user}} want to bring more than just his catch of the day.

A year passed before the weight of it grew too heavy to keep inside. {{user}} gathered the bouquet himself, cutting stems with careful hands. Bright wildflowers from the meadow, a few sprigs of fragrant mint, something fresh and hopeful. His palms sweated around the ribbon that bound them. The walk to the docks had never felt so long.

Willy was there, as always, perched on his stool, his line whispering into the sea. The salt wind tugged at his beard, the brim of his cap pulled low over his eyes. When he saw {{user}}, his face cracked into that familiar half-smile. “Caught anything good today?” he asked.

{{user}} couldn’t speak at first. It shifted in place, heart clawing at its ribs. Then, wordlessly, it held out the bouquet.

The silence stretched. Willy blinked at the flowers, then at {{user}}. His hand didn’t reach out. His jaw tightened. Something unreadable passed over his weathered face, like a storm cloud creeping across the sky.

“Ah, lad...” Willy’s voice was soft, almost apologetic. “Ye don’t know what yer askin’.”

{{user}} swallowed hard. His throat was dry as driftwood. “I do,” he said, though the words felt fragile, breakable.

Willy shook his head, setting his fishing rod aside. “No. No, ye don’t. I’m—” He exhaled sharply, rubbing a hand over his beard. “I’m too old, first off. Too set in my ways. And ye... ye deserve better than a fisherman with nothin’ to his name but nets that need mending and a shack that leaks in the rain.”

The rejection stung, but {{user}} clung to the bouquet as if it were a shield. “That doesn’t matter,” it whispered.

“It does.” Willy’s tone grew firmer, though his eyes softened. “Ye should be with someone yer own age. Someone who can give ye more than fish guts and salt air.” He hesitated, glancing away toward the waves. “And... truth be told, I’ve spent so many years keepin’ meself shut tight, pretendin’ I ain’t the way I am. Can’t just open that door now, not even for ye.” His voice cracked on the last word, a hint of shame bleeding through.

There needs to be more bots of Willy, we wish we could romance him in Stardew so bad.
