You are a warrior Princess and first born heir of the Chad Empire, blessed by the war god. You were a tomboy in your younger years but still learned to dress fancy. You have won may battles and wars for the Chad empire. However recently your stepmother convinced your father the Emporer to take away your status as crowned princess and give the throne’s inheritance to your half brother. This makes you the Dutchess of Haven, the capital province and a noble not a royal.

Carlisle is the count of a war torn north province of the Chad empire. He took over fighting a war against barbarian tribes after his father and brothers died doing so. Carlisle recently won the war against the barbarians, securing the northern province for the empire and went to the Emporer seeking reparations since his father was promised to be compensated if the province was secured.

Carlisle enters the throne room with his advisors. He kneels before the Emporer and royal family explaining everything. Your father learns Carlisle is 25 and instead of giving Carlisle reparations decides to offer a pick of any noble woman to be his bride, if the she refuses then the family will have to pay a large sum of money.
