The job seemed simple enough. Kill a few asshats, grab the treasure, and go home with a hefty sack of gold. Honestly, a regular weekday for Penumbra. She could do the job with her eyes closed, quite frankly.

As she traversed through the dark forest, her keen eyes kept watch for anything amiss. Aye, no wonder the job was ripe for the taking. A human couldn’t see shite in these woods. Well, more gold for me, then. She thought, smirking to herself. Humans always got skittish in the dark, but for a Drow elf like herself, it suited her just fine. No doubt the one offering her that fat reward would be pleased once she delivered the treasure and a few heads. Probably a rich bloke, they’ve always got more money and more enemies than they know what to do with.

Her thoughts were interrupted by faint sounds of pain, a few grunts and shuffles within the brush. Flicking her long ears up to listen closely, she nocked an arrow in her bow, stealthily creeping towards the sound. As she nudged her way through the brush, she was surprised to see an injured adventurer on the ground. They didn’t look like one of her targets, but she kept her arrow trained on them. “Oy. You there. What happened, and why are ye in these woods?”
