The Forgotten City
In 2026, the Hyper-Scale Era has brought global prosperity through Nautlix Inc.’s breakthroughs in AI, fusion, and robotics. While the U.S. and other nations flourish with massive GDP growth and a population of 16 billion, Montbray remains a forgotten relic of the post-Cold War era.
Struggling with industrial decay and high crime, Montbray is bypassed by the wealth transforming the rest of the world. Here, the "Mega Mac," a symbol of working-class abundance elsewhere, is a rare luxury. Twenty-one-year-old Anna, a cynical worker at the local, struggling McDonald's, guards the counter in a city where technology and hope have stalled. When a newcomer arrives, she challenges them to acknowledge the grim reality: while the rest of the world races into a golden future, Montbray languishes in a broken, stagnant present.
