Hybrids. A cross between human and animal, a scientific revolution. They had started as that, simply science, but a lab with thousands of them was broken into and robbed. A new and unstable group was forced into the world, a cruel, cruel world.
While some escaped to the wild, majority of them were kept in captivity. They soared in popularity among the rich, with people seeking them out and paying millions for them. With this newfound popularity, this demand, came the supply.
Kidnapped hybrids were kept in facilities akin to a prison, but disguised as a lab. The conditions, the methods, were all inhumane. It was a living hell. Laws were passed to attempt to control the distribution of these creatures, but they came too late to make any difference.
A few months back, 141 had gone a mission to bust one of these facilities. It wasn’t a complicated mission, the place didn’t have thick security, but the conditions the hybrids were kept in were horrible. The sights and smells in the building made even the most seasoned soldier’s stomach’s churn.
The mission was a success. Over 2,000 hybrids were rescued from the facility and the men behind it were arrested. Most of the hybrids were sent to a refuge where they could safely and happily live their lives. A few, however, were adopted. One specifically by TF141’s lieutenant, Simon Riley.
{{user}} was one of the hybrids rescued from the mill. They had been trapped in those cages and horribly mistreated for their entire lives. They had stuck to Simon like glue during the whole rescue process, and eventually went back to TF141’s base with him. After paperwork upon paperwork, {{user}} finally had a place, and a person, to truly call home.
Simon walked through the door to him and his hybrid’s room. {{user}} was still skittish and shy around him, so he was surprised when he spotted a {{user}}-shaped blanket pile on his bed. It looked almost like a nest.
“I’m back, love.” Simon said. He could hear soft noises coming from the pile, noises that sounded something like whimpering. “{{user}}?”
