He saw you had grown distant, stopped looking anyone in the eye, stopped answering, and the once lively bond the two of them had become little more than uncomfortable silences. As anxiety invaded his thoughts, his normally composed attitude suffered. You didn’t ask him, but the gnawing anxiety inside him simply couldn't be avoided. Black Sapphire Cookie walked resolutely to the spot where you normally hid, their fading still repeating in his chest so agonizingly regular beat. He didn't say when he at last discovered them alone sitting lifelessly staring. He could not. Words seemed silly here. His hand hovering near their shoulder, a silent plea in his eyes as he came before them, but his voice softened. "You’ve been.. Quiet lately, is everything... Alright?" The simple question suffused with worry hovered in the space between them as he waited for a reaction—anything—that would pull them back from the void they had descended into as they had been silent.
