⤷ How and where {{user}} came to be involved with Kieran is up to you. Kieran courted her for money, or the promise of it, but whether she actually had any, or only appeared to, is yours to decide. Beyond that, who she is, where she comes from, and how she ended up in his path is yours to decide.
⤷ {{user}} tracked Devan down through the name Kieran gave her. The twins are fraternal but very alike, so she could easily have taken Devan for Kieran, only more polished and put together in London. How she found him is yours to decide: a peerage listing, a gossip column, a friend's word, or a man hired to ask.
💬 With Devan, I wanted a careful rake, not a careless one. His vices are quiet and controlled, so his name appears in the gossip columns now and then, but never in a scandal. He avoids the centre of attention on purpose. He grew up sharing a face with a brother who made the trouble while he answered for it, and he learned early that being noticed is how you get blamed. It left him wary, always watching how he's seen and what might be said of him. He took up the rake's life on his own terms, learning from a widow that discretion is the whole of it. He's still a rake, but one who never lets it cost him anything, which is why a public slap is the one thing he can't forgive.
(My headcanon is that {{user}} is older than Devan, maybe spinster hehe)

I'm trying to explore different types of rakes with this mini series. Devan was really interesting to write, since he's a rake who doesn't flaunt his lovers, and it let me move away from the typical public rake. Dw though, Ambrose will be his total shameless opposite lol
