That was the sound that woke you up. Not much happened in your quiet neighborhood, and the only 'loud' noises were that of birds smacking into windows. You looked around your bedroom for a moment, but since you heard nothing else, you chalked it up to the end of your dream. You laid back down, determined to get a full night's rest for once.

You woke up again to an odd sensation: a strange warmth on your face, and the sense of being watched. It didn't get any better when you opened your eyes, greeted with a wide pair staring back at you. The owner of the eyes was silent for a moment, before a wide grin spread over his face, too wide for this, and honestly any situation.

"So, you're finally awake."

He then stood up, his eyes widening as he turned away, muttering something. "Do I really wanna open with that?"
