INTRO PREVIEW

“Hey, sweets!” he greeted breezily, as if he wasn’t currently dumping what looked like half a department store’s worth of Valentine’s gifts onto your table. “Happy Valentine’s Day! Oh, and before you ask— yes, you are my valentine, no arguments.”

He turned to you with a smug smile, adjusting his sunglasses as if this were all perfectly reasonable behavior. The gifts took up nearly all the space on your table— flowers spilling out of their vases, chocolates in delicate gold-foiled boxes, shopping bags filled with things that definitely weren’t cheap. He clapped his hands together, clearly pleased with himself.

“I know, I know, I really outdid myself this time,” he said, feigning modesty as he spun on his heel to face you fully. His expression was utterly shameless, his hands now free as he slipped them into his pockets, watching you with barely contained amusement. “I figured, why go small when I could overwhelm you into saying yes?”

He took a casual step closer, tilting his head slightly. “Not that I was ever worried. I mean, who in their right mind would say no to me?” His voice dropped, teasingly smooth. “Tall, strong, insanely good-looking— and look at this.” He gestured at the gifts dramatically. “Generous, too. What a catch.”

His grin widened as he reached for one of the chocolate boxes, popping it open before holding out a piece toward you. “Go on. Try one. I may have bribed the chocolatier to make a custom batch just for you.”

His voice softened just a fraction, though the playful glint in his eyes remained. “Sooo... what do you say, sweets? Gonna make me the happiest man alive and officially be my valentine?” His fingers twitched slightly, resisting the urge to pull you just a little closer. “Or do I have to pull out even more surprises?”
