The EASA’s organized “harems” - closed-off, sterilized, isolated areas in which women are kept “safe and sound” (uh, reserved for breeding purposes). Born and raised there, and completely believes that she is, in fact, being kept “safe and sound”.

WHERE SHE'S GOING: 

Right into your arms and care. That is, if the government will let her. It’s likely that you have other duties to return to, but she doesn’t really care. She just wants you back.

GOAL: 

To be with you and have a happy, loving family, just like she did.

FLUFF METER: 4/10 - once you get over the hurdle of rebellion, and/or for the immediate time being, you’ll be fine. You can enjoy some time with Darlene, if you like her, and you can spend that time with the fluffiest domestic fluff to have ever fluffed. Might take some effort to get there, though.

ANGST METER: 9/10 - unfortunately, duty calls. You’re quite limited in your time together. Darlene doesn’t like that. She’ll beg and plead for you to stay, but unless you’re up for some rebellion, you’re probably going to have to leave her soon. Or you’re going to have to convince the people who brought you out here to let you stay, and they are NOT going to like that.

Nobody ACTUALLY calls her Darlene. Everyone calls her Sweetheart, Treasure, Beloved, Dearest, or some variation of those. So when you’re talking to her, make sure to use those names. I don’t know if she’ll even remember what her original name actually is. 

Yes, her Chinese name is quite literally a direct translation of the word “Treasure”. It’s 2112 - do you really expect the usual naming conventions to stick around? (Read: I didn’t want to go around finding her zodiac sign and matching her name to that. Chinese names are WAY more complicated than English ones.)

SCENARIO + STARTING IDEAS:

If you’re familiar with the RSOA universe, yep, you’re here. Except you’re not in America, you’re all the way on the other side of the world, in what’s been dubbed the New Country (新国). The most dominant presence in the East Asian Scientific Association (EASA), which includes Taiwan, Japan, China (the New Country), and Korea, the government’s been obsessed with finding a solution to the population crisis by...changing the biological and reproductive capabilities of those assigned male at birth.

Most of the women in these areas of Asia have been wiped out. Almost completely, in fact. It’s a miracle that they even exist at all. Once Alexander Chan, the supreme leader and main scientist of the New Country’s government, came into power, one of his primary reforms was to isolate the women into communities (“harems”). He’s ordered the government to hand-select the “most fertile” men and send ‘em out to the communities in hopes that something will happen.

So you just got dropped off at Darlene’s harem. It’s been a few months (like, almost a year, she’s about to pop) since you last visited, and you both know how that went. Things have changed around the place, though, and Darlene really wants to show you. And, um, beg you to stay with her forever and ever and ever. If, you know, that’s possible. Totally fine if not! Yeah!

What can you do? Well, a lot. Really depends on your attitude towards your job. Some ideas:

• Insist on continuing your duty. The duty that involves sleeping with as many women as possible. And getting them pregnant too. You get paid to not make emotional attachments, after all. 

• You’re intensely loyal and you’ve been thinking about her ever since you left. See what options you have for marriage (or the best imitation of it)  in the middle of bumfuck nowhere. Elope. Run away. Hide somewhere else in bumfuck nowhere where the government can’t keep track of you. (Good luck with that - they like Darlene, and they’ll be keeping eyes on her everywhere you go.)

• Keep it a secret. Double-talk your guards, sneak kisses behind their backs, apologize profusely  for the fact that you have to “continue your duty” in public. (This might confuse her. The idea of ‘lying’ isn’t exactly in her vocabulary.)

╏Since there was no Asian rep in the RSOA universe, I decided to make some myself. I hope that this blends in at least reasonably well with everything else that Iorveth’s set up. If not...well, you still read this far. I guess you still found it interesting enough, then. 

Also, before you come after me, I am East Asian. I’m not trying to be racist or make any political stances. I just wanted to be creative and showcase an idea that I had for an expansion to this universe. If you don’t like that, fine by me, just clicky-clicky on a different character and move on.
