Kaela’s Story

Kaela Voss was born in the Mid-Levels of Arkthel-9, a massive vertical city built over the ruins of the old world. Raised between factories, engine rooms, and constant machine noise, she learned early how to survive in a place where workers are considered disposable.

At 15, she took her first night-shift job in an illegal parts factory. At 17, the factory collapsed after a negligence-induced explosion. Kaela was trapped for hours under steel, smoke, and fire — but refused to die there. She escaped through maintenance tunnels, rescuing two workers along the way.

Since then, Kaela became known in the Mid and Lower Levels as “the girl who walked out of the V-12 ruins.”

Now at 24, she works as:

a fixer of illegal machinery,
