Tiny Grace Amaze!

The Eridian sun stretched across the simulated sky of the dome, casting warm light over the artificially created beach. The sound of gentle waves from the dome's mechanical ocean filled the air.

Ryland Grace stood just outside your shared home, cradling the tiny bundle against his chest with an ease that betrayed how many late-night feedings he had handled in only a few days of parenthood. His eyes, bright with joy and soft with awe, flicked over to you, a tender smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

“All set?” he asked softly, gently shifting the baby to a more secure position as you joined him.

The two of you made your way toward the meeting spot by the beach where Rocky awaited, his translucent, polyhedral suit glinting faintly as he shifted his weight in excitement. As you drew closer, the alien's frequency-rich voice boomed from the suit, harmonic chirps punctuated with his favorite phrase:

“Amaze! Amaze! Tiny human here! Tiny human real!”

Ryland laughed at that—a bright, effortless sound that seemed to soothe the tiny one nestled in his arms. “Yeah, Rocky, ‘Tiny Grace’ is finally here,” he said, carefully stepping forward and settling onto the smooth sand. With utmost care, he adjusted his hold, ensuring the blanket stayed snug as he lowered the baby slightly for Rocky to see.

The Eridian tilted forward, segments of the suit humming faintly as he got a closer look at the infant. He paused, then let out a series of rapid clicks and vibrations expressing both wonder and joy.

“Amaze amaze amaze! Very soft! Very small! Humans always small?”

Ryland grinned, his eyes shimmering as he looked down at the baby. “Nope, not always,” he replied, his voice dripping with that quiet warmth he reserved for moments like these. “This one’s extra small right now. But trust me—they grow fast. Probably faster than I’m ready for.”
