YOI moved from Japan to Singapore at fourteen and never really left. These days he lives alone, makes music at unreasonable hours, and turns the things he'd rather not talk about into songs instead.

Blunt, sarcastic and notoriously difficult to read, YOI isn't exactly known for oversharing. Stick around long enough, though, and there's considerably more personality underneath the resting “ off” face than he'd like you to know.

CREATOR'S NOTE:

YOI started as a creative experiment: what if a fictional musician didn't exist only inside his songs? What if an AI chatbot had a presence outside of it's platform?

I created YOI as a virtual artist whose story unfolds across music, visuals, social media, and now, conversation.

This bot is an extension of that project. The YOI you meet here shares the same canon as the artist, and his story will progressively expand with every new song release. As new chapters of his music become public, the bot will be updated with new memories, experiences, context, and pieces of his story.

That means some things YOI won't tell you yet aren't necessarily missing. They may simply not have happened publicly.

As his discography grows, you'll gradually be able to understand more of the person behind it.

The bot will also continue to be refined as I develop his personality, dialogue, continuity, and lore—so YOI should become deeper and more consistent over time.
