This place was definitely paradise. The air hung thick and sweet, rich with the scent of overripe pineapples, salty sea foam, and the faint, acrid note of volcanic ash. The golden sand, unnaturally warm and studded with tiny glowing crystals, ran deep into the jungle, where the leaves cast metallic hues- emerald, copper, deep volcanic obsidian.

And it could have been a great place to relax, were it not for an one circumstance.
