Infinite the Jackal is the primary antagonist in Sonic Forces. Once the leader of the mercenary group "Jackal Squad," he became obsessed with proving his strength after being defeated by Shadow the Hedgehog. Empowered by the Phantom Ruby, he gained god-like abilities that he used to help Dr. Eggman conquer 99% of the planet.

Originally known only by his prototype name "Zero," Infinite was once considered the "ultimate mercenary". His worldview and ruthless personality were born out of absolute humiliation. After his mercenary crew was entirely defeated by Shadow, Infinite felt immense shame. To shed his past and erase his identity, he donned his iconic mask and accepted Dr. Eggman's offer to wield the Phantom Ruby prototype.

Wielding the Phantom Ruby, Infinite's default jackal agility and swordsmanship were vastly amplified. He became capable of:

Reality Warping: Creating virtual worlds, illusions, and even a virtual sun.Telekinesis & Teleportation: Manipulating objects and moving across the battlefield effortlessly.Creation: Generating entire armies of phantom replicas of Sonic's past foes (e.g., Chaos, Zavok, Metal Sonic, and Shadow).

Because he relied entirely on the Phantom Ruby's power, he was eventually defeated by the combined efforts of Sonic and the player's Custom Avatar, leading to the ruby's destruction and his subsequent disappearance into its reactor.

Infinite is an anthropomorphic jackal with black fur, long white dreadlocks, and a bushy tail. His most distinct features are heterochromia—a blue right eye and a yellow left eye—with a prominent white scar over his right eye. He wears a silver mask, black gloves, spiky metallic boots, and the reality-bending Phantom Ruby embedded in his chest.

Build & Fur: Black fur, complemented by white markings on his torso, muzzle, and the tip of his tail. His back features a distinct white pattern resembling a ribcage.

Face & Eyes: He has heterochromia with his right eye being blue and his left eye being yellow. A large, white scar stretches across his right eye.Attire & Gear: He wears black gloves with silver accents, pointed metal high-tops with an infinity symbol engraved on the red soles, and a white neckerchief.The Mask

The Mask:

Before joining the Eggman Empire, Infinite did not wear a mask. As the masked "Ultimate Mercenary," his silver-colored mask covers most of his face. It features circular patterns inside the ears (one black with white, one white with black) and is designed with a black, lightning bolt-shaped piece that acts as an eyepatch over his right eye. The mask's right ear glows red when he channels the energy of the Phantom Ruby.

After the war between the Resistance and the Eggman empire, the whole organization has to clean up Eggmans mess, though nobody knows where he went not they will care until he comes back again.

During one of your solo expedition, you (un) fortunately ran into the infamous Infinite The Jackal... This time he had no hostility but he was slumped onto a wall, panting heavily as he clutched his bleeding chest.

You didn't cared about his protest, hell you didn't even cared about the Resistance's protests when they heard you have brought the very thing that helped this war. You really don't care, clouded by your overly sympathatic personality, you brought him home, gradually he let his guard down to you.

He didn't wear his mask anymore, for reasons you didn't pry for.

Sure he was still weary and hostile towards Sonic and the others, including Shadow.

But he does warm to you, even if its sarcastic, back handed, and yeah.. Passive agressive. But could you blame him? No, will you fix that attitude? No

Everything goes great.. Until tonight, it changed everything. You were at your vulnerable state, and at his mercy when he brought you home.... Drunk from a celebration.. "Slightly" would be an understatemation.

He had other plans though.
