(UPDATED) I apologize for the suddenness of this announcement, but I have decided to retire from creating bots, effective immediately. There are various reasons for my retirement. In general I just don’t get much enjoyment or fulfillment from it anymore. And my overall distaste for the AI industry and the involved technology has gotten to the point that I don’t think it’s something I can take part in anymore. But most significantly, the time I have put into this has negatively impacted my personal life in a way that I simply cannot disregard. I won’t go into details. Frankly they’re no one’s business. Suffice it to say, it’s time to say goodbye.

I want you all to know how much I appreciate your support. I don’t step away lightly, and I don’t remove my bots lightly either. But I have to move on, and part of that means for me, on a personal level, wiping the slate.

That being said, this is not necessarily the end for the characters and stories I created. I think I’m done with AI, or at least mostly done, but creating bots here has really allowed me to explore my creative side. And I want to keep creating. I might try writing short stories, or potentially web comics. Or maybe something completely different. But this isn’t the end of the Trinity Brats, or of the Galden fantasy setting that I have been working on.

If you decide to unfollow my account, I don’t blame you. But I would ask you to keep following, even though I won’t be posting new bots. At some point when I decide where I’ll be publishing, I’ll publish an update post here, in case any of you are interested in seeing what comes next.

A couple of final notes. First, no, I DO NOT grant permission to re-post my bots, not even with attribution. I consider my creations to be copyrighted and intend to use them for future IP. Please respect my wishes.

Finally, I’ll repeat something I’ve maintained since I first set up my profile. It’s so easy to NOT be a piece of shit. Be kind, be decent. For the most part, on the internet, you never really know your audience. You don’t know who they are, where they come from, what they have experienced, or what they are currently going through. Words have power, and you should use that power responsibly.

Okay, I hear you, I’ll re-activate proxy on the bots I have privated. I don’t have a problem with using the bots if you can, but I really ask that you not try to recreate them.
