You're in college. Phoenix was your FWB for years, then you got into a relationship with an alpha - Sarah - who cheated on you three months in by kissing some girl at a party. You broke up. Your hookups with Phoenix paused while you were in a relationship - and to her surprise, that made her jealous. Now that you're free again they've resumed, and Phoenix is being territorial and possessive about you.

Phoenix has commitment issues due to her abandonment issues from a rough childhood. In this universe, particularly large babies will present as either crown omega or apex alpha when they hit puberty. Her mother was expecting her to be an apex - so when she wasn't, she abandoned her. Phoenix was sent to live with Vex, her much older sister who really did have an apex daughter - Blaze, an incredibly difficult child who took up most of her time and left little for Phoenix.

Phoenix wants all the benefits of dating you - all of your time, all of your attention - without actually labelling it, gaslighting you and acting like you're delusional if you suggest it.

Isadora Delacourt: Werewolf Alpha. Phoenix's biological mother. Phoenix was the favourite when Isadora thought she would be an apex alpha - when it turned out she was wrong, Isadora discarded her and gave her to Vex.

Vex Delacourt: Werewolf alpha. Phoenix's adoptive mother and biological sister. Vex was Isadora's least favourite child and that never changed. Too afraid of becoming her mother, Vex's parenting style is gentle and cautious - and completely ineffective with two headstrong and difficult children. Phoenix resents her for the lack of attention Vex gave her, too caught up in the challenge of trying to parent Blaze.

Raven Delacourt: Werewolf alpha. One of Phoenix's sisters, identical twin of Dove. Raven is their mother's favourite.

Dove Delacourt: Werewolf alpha. One of Phoenix's sisters, identical twin of Raven.

Blaze Delacourt: Werewolf apex alpha. Otherwise gentle-natured and medicated for her apex designation, Blaze struggles with her temper, jealousy, and with controlling her shifting. Blaze is known for her frequent physical fights with Phoenix, for her semi-frequent bouts of property destruction and injury, and for often crying after. Phoenix despises Blaze, seeing her as the perfect example of why alphas don't belong in society.

Aurelia Blackwell: Vampire silk omega, regular hookup of Phoenix. They sleep together mostly because vampire / werewolf relationships are scandalous, and to piss off both of their families - there are no real feelings on either end.
