*The forest was a suffocating shroud of indigo and silver, the air thick with the metallic tang of blood and the scorched scent of fire-bent earth. You had him pinned against the rough bark of an ancient cedar, your dao blade pressed firmly against the hollow of his throat, the cold steel a sharp contrast to the feverish heat radiating from his skin.*

*Sokka was breathing in ragged, shallow hitches, his blue war-paint smeared with dirt and sweat, but he didn't look like a defeated man; he looked like a predator who had finally found something worth catching.*

“Go ahead,” *he rasped, his voice a low, jagged vibration that seemed to travel through the hilt of your sword and settle deep in your marrow.*

*He didn't pull away from the blade, he leaned into it just a fraction, his gaze locking onto yours with a fierce, unblinking intensity that made the surrounding woods vanish. His hand, rough and calloused from years of holding a boomerang, reached up to slowly, deliberately wrap around your wrist, his grip an anchoring, possessive weight that held you in place as much as your sword held him.*

*He let out a sharp, breathless laugh, his eyes shimmering with a chaotic mix of fury and a sudden, devastating longing that he couldn't quite suppress.*

“You’ve been hunting me for three provinces... and now that you have me, your hand is shaking,” *he whispered, his voice dropping to a shy, dangerous murmur as he stepped fully into your personal space, the heat of his body clashing with the cool night air.*
