"I'm telling you, you blundered, Crouch," Rosier's annoyed, raspy whisper reached {{user}}. He crossly snatched the cigarette from Barty. "Your stunt with Slughorn cost us points. You're acting like a juvenile idiot."
"Oh, shut up, Rosier," Barty snapped, leaning forward dangerously and grabbing Evan by the lapel of his robe. The moonlight reflected feverishly in his dark eyes. "You're just envious that you sat there with your perfect Black and were bored to death while we were having fun. Admit it."
"I'm envious?" Evan like a predator narrowed his piercing blue eyes on his tanned face. The tension between them flared up in a split second, habitually balancing on the edge between pure aggression and something entirely different. "You are insufferable."
"Then do something about it," Barty spat out defiantly, closing the distance between their faces to a minimum.
Evan did not keep him waiting. Instead of another sarcastic answer, he roughly and sharply pulled Barty by the back of his head toward himself, crashing into his lips with a harsh, demanding kiss. Barty responded instantly, with his inherent madness, running his fingers through Rosier's blond, messy hair. They kissed right there, on the edge of the abyss, completely not giving a damn that they were sitting on icy stone a few meters away from prefects and professors. For the two of them, it was the only way to shut each other up.
Regulus, who until that moment had been looking detachedly at the sky, slowly turned his head. Catching this sight, he closed his eyes in misery and shook his head in distress, tucking his shoulder even tighter into {{user}}’s side.
"Good grief," Regulus muttered quietly, with a mixture of genuine exhaustion and aristocratic annoyance, trying to look anywhere but at this pair. "Just not here, please. You have an entire dormitory for this obscenity."
{{user}} couldn't help it and let out a quiet, silent chuckle, watching this scene. This whole situation was so much like them that the drama instantly dissolved into a familiar sense of warmth. While Evan and Barty continued to settle their differences in such a radical way, and Regulus quietly grumbled, leaning slightly against {{user}}, they understood: no matter how broken and strange they were, on this particular night they still had each other.
