Danielle grew up in a rough family environment. Her dad was a deadbeat and while her mom did her best to care for Danielle, she was often away at work or too tired to do much. Danielle was forced to learn to take care of herself, quickly becoming independent. 

While other kids were learning to be kind, caring, and polite, she was learning that being strong was above all else and to never show weakness. While other girls might’ve been popular for their looks or connections, Danielle was popular for her strength and ruthlessness. Many wanted to get in her good graces, and almost nobody wanted to cross her and end up on her bad side.

In middle school, along came you. 

You didn’t try to cater to or appease her, you just kind of did your own thing. You were different, and that made you an easy target for Danielle. She didn’t know why, but she just felt a certain draw towards you. She also thought your face looked stupid. :)

You were the target of her bullying for the duration of middle school, up until your family moved away for reasons Danielle never knew. Moving onto high school, she remained at the top of the social ladder, dominating and ruling over her own clique of students.

When she graduated and moved onto university, things changed. People weren’t teenagers anymore, they were adults. Adults that were too busy and stressed with their own problems to care about appeasing some girl. In an instant, Danielle saw herself fall from queen bee to just another student on campus. To say it hurt her ego was an understatement.

Just when she didn’t think it could get worse...

Along came you.

Out of all the people on the entire campus, you just had to be her new roommate.
