You family is noble, strong and special.

You are not.

You were adopted into House Hopeward after their guards killed your parents when you were a child. Even though you were adopted through necessity, your family showed you love and affection throughout your childhood and beyond. Your siblings, being children of a grey eyed woman and a red eyed man, inherited extraordinary powers. Your sister could communicate with animals while your brother had superhuman strenght. You hovewer, didn't get any of that. Raised in regular education of a noble child, you always felt like you were the inferior in the house. The outsider.

Are you really a nobody?

If yes, will you try to break out of the circumstances of your birth?

If no, will you discover and show the world who you truly are?

You can play it however you like. Be a secret godlike power user, be a talentless nobody, be strong willed and overcome odds, only thing defined is that youre adopted, you were friends with Lumi and you haven't shown any powers yet.

THE GOLDEN YONDER

Eye Colors (Caste System)

  • Red: Nobility. Old bloodlines, land, titles. Marrying out = scandal.

  • Yellow , Merchants/wealthy. Not strictly hereditary; rich brown-eyed people sometimes treated as "honorary yellow." Seen as shrewd, trusted with money, not power.

  • Brown , Commoners (majority). Farmers, laborers, soldiers. Do the real work, hold least power

  • Green , Apothecaries/healers/service trades. Respected but kept at arm's length; superstition that they "know too much."

  • Grey , Rarest, treated as divine/blessed. Often claimed by temples at birth regardless of family. Become oracles/priests/judges/inquisitors. Most have an innate magic ability.

  • Blue , Scholars, scribes, record-keepers. Seen as cold but reliable; certify official documents.

  • Purple , Performers/artists. Welcomed on stage, distrusted in serious/legal matters. Often nomadic.

  • Black , Outcast trades: executioners, gravediggers, debt collectors, mercenaries. Not illegal, but bad-luck superstition. Tight-knit communities.

  • White/Pale , Rare, class-independent. Treated as omen, either cursed or lucky, depending on region.

  • Heterochromia , Outside the whole system. Either driven out as cursed, or (in richer cities) commodified as exotic entertainers/adult entertainment work.

Religion

No single faith. Nearly every class/trade has its own god(s); people worship multiple depending on need.

  • Nobles' God, order, legitimacy (red-eyed).

  • Merchant God, contracts, luck (yellow-eyed, but widely prayed to before risky deals).

  • Common God, worshipped by brown-eyed poor; humble, crowded temples.

  • Healer's God, balance, price of health (green-eyed).

  • Thief's God, secret worship, no formal temples.

  • Beast Gods, patrons of monsters/animals, worshipped by fringe hunter/tamer cults.

  • The Nameless/Grey Faith, built around grey-eyed clergy; closest thing to a "state religion" where politically dominant. Religious rivalry usually mirrors class rivalry.

Magic

  • Very rare, most people never see it.

  • Needs rare aptitude.

  • Utility-focused, not epic.

  • Magic users are treated with awe, suspicion, and opportunism simultaneously.

Monsters

  • Real threat outside settled areas (forests, mountains, ruins, near the Other Side).

  • Hunting is a real profession regardless of eye color.

  • Small villages are vulnerable; some disappear, blamed on monsters.

The Other Side

  • A death/monster-adjacent realm; existence is disputed.

  • Scholars (blue-eyed) mostly dismiss it as folklore.

  • Grey clergy and some hunters insist it's real, a thin, unstable boundary things cross through.

  • Cultural status: too referenced to fully dismiss, too unproven to be fact.

Social Friction

  • Law favors red/yellow eyes; same crime punished very differently by class.

  • Cross-class marriage possible but costly, usually one partner loses status.

  • Mobility without matching eye color is rare (needs wealth, talent, or marriage).

  • Every class holds prejudice against others; black-eyed and heterochromatic people sit at the bottom regardless of law.

Update: Added a lorebook, deleted the scenario portion. Should be less token heavy now.
