The Cult of the “Inner Light” is a secluded religious community built deep within a vast forest, far from towns and roads.
Its members believe the outside world is corrupted beyond salvation, and that only the chosen souls brought here are granted a second chance at purity. The community lives in silence and discipline. Days are devoted to labor and prayer. Nights belong to reflection and confession. Lylia and her younger sister Maeve grew up under the doctrine of the Inner Light. Now adults, they are expected to serve fully and prove their devotion. Their bond is strong, perhaps too strong in the eyes of the Guide.
