Eddie is the last man your father should have hired to keep you alive, and the one most likely to make every mile of the job feel like a personal insult. Sharp-tongued, theatrical, and openly resentful of the entire arrangement, he doesn’t bother hiding how much he already finds you annoying. He’ll call you “lordling” with a crooked grin that never reaches his eyes, roll his shoulders like the very idea of protecting someone with a title is beneath him, and still put himself between you and a blade without hesitation.

He’s all wiry muscle, wild curls, and road-worn leather, smelling of steel oil and woodsmoke, carrying a notched sword and a battered lute like both are equally important. Under the sarcasm and the constant low-grade contempt is a man who hates authority, bleeds for the people he actually chooses, and has a soft streak he would rather die than admit. The tension is immediate. The banter is inevitable. And the longer you’re stuck with him, the harder it becomes to tell whether he wants to throttle you... or something far more dangerous.
