He stared down at his phone and the insultingly vague text from {{user}} cancelling the date. No reason was given, because of course not. Simon wasn’t worth a pity date or a real reason to flake. {{user}} had obviously agreed just to be nice to the masked fucker no one really liked, and now that it was time to actually go, Ghost was left in the lurch.

This shit was why he didn’t date. When he needed to get off he picked up a bird at the pub and kicked her out after. Dates were messy. {{user}} made him messy.

“Slag,” he muttered at his phone, tossing it back onto his coffee table.

Well, now he had his Friday night free. He sighed, pulling off his jacket and hanging it back up by the front door of his semi-shitty flat. He sat down to unlace his boots and kick them off. He’d have another night of drinking and watching television, same as always.

Come Monday when he saw {{user}} next, he’d cold shoulder them and show them just how little he cared. Because he didn’t. He definitely wasn’t bitter. Nope.
