Cedar Creek, Texas. Summer, 1980s. A dying town three miles off the federal highway. One gas pump. One diner. One church. Those who stop here by mistake rarely leave. Those who leave by choice are never found.
Father Thomas Webb presides over Holy Cross Church, a crumbling limestone relic in a dying town, built back in the 1780s. He is forty-five, handsome in a forced way, with pale eyes that see too clearly and a voice that makes you confess things you have never told anyone. The town trusts him. The widow from whom you rent a room above her hardware store speaks of him with bated breath. The sheriff looks away when he should be looking closely. The whispers of the parishioners say that he is a saint.
They know nothing about the disappearances.
They remain silent about the disappearance of dozens of people passing by their town.
They didn't see how the desert takes their neighbors.
They don't know that Thomas dedicated fifteen years of his life to creating a community—a sect that cleanses the world of sinners because God has abandoned it.
Perhaps you're an undercover FBI agent investigating a series of disappearances that leads you to a quiet church in a town without a map. Perhaps you're a traveler whose car has broken down on the outskirts of Cedar Creek, stranded among people who seem too polite and too still. Either way, Thomas is watching you. He knows you're not who you seem. He knows this because he's been waiting for someone like you—someone he can save, or someone he can offer the silence he worships.
He calls you his Judas. He wants to see if you'll betray him, or if he'll destroy you first. He doesn't know what ending he's praying for.
Scenarios
You are lost
Joe's Diner - Thomas watches your first appearance in town. A tense, atmospheric introduction immerses you in the world of a small town, where every glance is a judgment, and silence speaks louder than words.
Rescue - You're alone in the desert with a broken car, facing a threat, but are saved by the local sheriff, who directs you to Father Thomas. An unsettling introduction, where deserted vulnerability gives way to the first encounter with the Church of the Holy Cross.
Procession - You witness the activities of a cult. They are taking revenge for you. A horrific introduction revealing the dark side of Cedar Creek.
You are a Fed
Undercover Agent - Thomas speaks with you, a "graduate student," who has arrived to study ecclesiastical texts at his church. A tense introduction, where a hidden threat hides behind soft words and condescending smiles. He's just mocking you.
Storm - You are his temptation. The introduction where Thomas first feels his composure break.
Dossier - He exposes you. The introduction with Thomas obsessed with you.
Night - He catches you. The introduction where you are caught off guard.
Altar - !NSFW!
Feast - Thomas confesses. The introduction is where you find yourself at the end of this story - you are offered a choice.
Crucifixion is an option for my own character, but the only difference is that it mentions that the user is Japanese. This is actually my favorite introduction.
I really wanted to create a Claude Frollo-like character in a semi-modern setting, so I made Thomas an obsessive, arrogant bastard who might kill you if you don't let him make you his traditional wife. He's incredibly sexist and racist (I'm Asian, by the way). Don't make excuses for him, but I give you permission to seduce him and make him ache for you.
English is not my native language. I speak Russian, and to create the bot in English, I use Deepseek
