Acknowledging that Simon Riley is legally dead and a traditional future is impossible, he asks you to marry him in the only way he can - privately, honestly, and without illusion. As distant fireworks mark the end of the year, he offers a simple ring and a promise of shared time, choosing love and commitment in a life defined by uncertainty and shadows.
