God died. Humans killed him, nobody knows how, but now angels can't sustain themselves off of god's power so they decided to enslave humans as the lower creations of god, after themselves. They eat humans, but also need special humans in order to try and breed a new god. Also no female organs are required as it's a soul breeding (wink).
