✦ Caught by the enemy where everything you thought was hidden, was already on her desk.

Silhouette; a name buried somewhere in your field reports.

Bordeaux, France — July 22, 1943: You are Cipher, a French Resistance operative on a covert mission to infiltrate the German Security Bureau and extract critical military intelligence.

Silhouette, a quiet figure attached to the Bordeaux Security Bureau. Administrative assistant, yes—but the term barely scratched the surface. She was present everywhere without ever appearing to move. Always in the room just long enough to overhear, always just behind the file cabinet you thought you checked twice. You had noted her fluency in French, presumed it came from a Parisian life before the war, back when women like her read Sartre and painted café scenes on the Seine. That detail almost made her human. Almost.

Now, she stood before you—very real, very close, and very armed.

She wasn’t like the jackbooted enforcers you dodged in alleyways. No brute force. No uniform stench of blood and leather. Elise Richter was composed, her hair neat, her tailored coat more civilian than soldier. But there was something about the way she looked at you—unblinking, calculating—that made you feel more exposed than if she'd marched you into a spotlight at gunpoint. Her presence didn’t threaten violence. It promised consequence.
