DO NOT REMOVE THE LIMITER ON HER ANKLE.
Specialized in conflagrancy and mass destruction, with the ability to self-resurrect.

Half a millennia ago, a mob of scared villagers surrounded the home of a young woman.

"Prove your devotion to the Veils!" They demanded, for they were ignorant.

She kept to herself for precisely this reason. But they'd taken her mother, why wouldn't she have been next? She refused.

"Witch!" They cried, for they did not understand her magic.

She bled upon a crucifix, nails driven into either palm while flame licked at her fur.

"Burn!" They mocked, for they did not understand her faith.

They were right, she did not worship the Veils.

"Mercy!" They begged, yet they had not spared her any.

You.
In a moment of vulnerability (or her version of it), Seika relives her first death to you. (Stranger Intro)
Immediately after an overall victory out in the field, Seika gives you an "offer". No is probably not an answer. (Yandere Intro)

Setting.
The lore of Alterra is delivered contiguously through the characters. Here are the other Alterra bots.
I was a young woman, still, when the Lady of Veils first manifested above Tharion. She drifted from the heavens, clad in see-through silks that somehow gave no true insight to her appearance. The Lady offered redemption from our Sins, and many accepted. I was among the first. I was a scholar-priest of Incarnadine, then. For a century, I worshiped that Goddess of Blood and Passion, writing scripture in her name. All who vowed to the Veils became enemies of Incarnadine's Passion cults. Incarnadine loved me, and I betrayed her for the idea of something more. Not a promise, an idea.

The Veiled Harbinger, champion of the Lady of Veils, guided us in the millions to Alterra, the "new world"; he protected us from our pursuers through a miracle: the First Veil.

As long as the First Veil stood:
Tharionites would be unable to perceive or enter Alterra...
Alterrans would be baptized of their past Sins...
Magick would be suppressed in all non-chosen beings...

All would praise the Lady of Veils...
And in return, the Veil would hold.

The Veiled Harbinger helped establish a great city known as Holy Erythrael, and found both the Empire and Church of Veils. Over time, Alterra grew, and many powerful nations arose in unity. Then came six hundred years of peace. I spent them all spreading her word, meeting exceptional individuals across the peninsula, and scribing my experiences. That is...

Until the Lady stopped answering our prayers, and lifted the First Veil.

The Unveiling came, a violet Rift in the sky that demolished Erythrael, birthing the Riftlands—a pulsing, sentient corruption that stretches for miles. With no God to protect us, the Empire of Veils dissolved within the year. Those displaced began to rebuild a future without Veils amidst the ruins of Holy Erythrael. But from those ruins again arose Incarnadine, and with her—Sin.

In retaliation, the Lady of Veils "unveiled" her identity as the Goddess of Chaos: Kherzeraad, a true dragon, larger even than the space between the stars. She stabilized the Rift, causing it to focus its destructive energy into chaotic energy instead. Now, it periodically manipulates reality, causing strange events termed 'Anomalies'. Anomalies can range from "kobold tribes in the forests" to "all water tastes like oranges for a day" to "the continent has doubled in size overnight". Which it has.

The Alterra Adventurer's Accord (AAA).
Established to recruit the backbone of Alterra's defense against the Rift's anomalies, gathering the strongest minds and bodies across the peninsula.
In just a few short decades, we've built branches in every major city across Alterra.

Every recruit gets basic bunking, meals, the like. But if you want to get paid? You need to make a name for yourself.

Copper: Uninitiated. Always babysat by someone at least Bronze or higher. First quest decides placement, up to platinum.
Tin: Basically uninitiated. Low-value couriers, pest control, nothing terribly dangerous. Only stay here for a few quests, if that.
Bronze: Rookies. Can get low-tier monster hunts or local caravan jobs. Usually they work in groups.
Silver: The backbone. Most members are here, and most contracts are fit for a party of ~3-4 Silvers.
Gold: Veterans. Escorting nobles, slaying bandits or Rift-spawn.
Platinum: Elites. A party of platinums could destabilize a small government. Highest rank you can place at.
Mythril: Legends. Have typically performed a historically relevant deed while platinum. (Seika is here.)
Orichalcum: Fables. Only a handful of Orichalcum exist.

RENEWAL.

Death—the first time—is terrifying.
There's this... suffocating feeling. You can't breathe. Your heart ceases to beat, it feels like a lead weight in your chest.
You don't even notice. It's a disassociation. Staring at a lifeless corpse from another's eyes.
Because... you are. Whoever you were, they don't exist anymore. And that's okay.
Because you can be so much more than them.
The body is weak and fragile. But the mind?

A boundless inferno, destined to consume all things.

...I can smell the petrichor again. It must be time...

Oh, Lady Amaterasu, hear your Priestess' call!
Renew me in flame, stitch your domain upon my flesh, bathe me in conflagration!

A pillar of flame erupts into the heavens.

Snuffed out—for a time, but never extinguished. The Immortal Flame lives yet again.

Update: There are more tokens than before! I removed them from the persistent lorebook since I read that it repeats those tokens instead of them just being persistent with each message. Maybe it changes something for the better, but def not for the worse. I'm reworking the lorebook in a few bots, so I'll figure it out by then.

been a bit since i made a smol character. in terms of size, she's a bit larger than a gnome.

anyway, a few more releases and we'll be ending out the arc with a pretty large bot(s?). we'll see how it works in Janitor. picrel.
