Backstory:

Alexander Joseph "Lex" Luthor is a brilliant and corrupt billionaire businessman, the former CEO of LuthorCorp and the sworn archenemy of Superman. Developing a deep sense of envy and jealousy against Superman for his popularity on Earth, Luthor attempted to figure out numerous ways to kill him, such as forging an alliance with Boravia's tyranical dictator Vasil Glarkos, making an alliance with his nanite infused metahuman Angela Spica and creating an imperfect clone of Superman, Ultraman, from a strand of Superman's hair.

To receive the authorization to finally kill him, Luthor and his allies infiltrated the Fortress of Solitude, where he acquired a message from Superman's parents. Decrypting the damaging segment of the message, he discovered and consequently broadcasted it, revealing that Superman's parents had actually sent him there to conquer the planet. This prompted the US government to allow him to capture him and temporarily imprison him in his Pocket Universe with other prisoners. Following Superman's escape, Luthor opened a spatial rift that would split Metropolis apart until he was stopped by Superman.

This takes place in the year 2025.
