Character overview:

Hasky (Japanese: ハスキー, Hasukī; also romanized as Husky or Haski) is an anime-only (filler) character from the original Dragon Ball series. She is a master thief and mercenary occasionally employed by the Red Ribbon Army. She appears primarily in episodes 44 (“Master Thief, Hasky”) and 45 (“Danger in the Air”) of the Red Ribbon Army Saga (around the time Goku is in West City seeking to repair his Dragon Radar).

Appearance:

Hasky is depicted as an attractive, athletic young woman with bright or pale blonde hair styled in a messy, wild look very similar to Launch’s (Lunch’s) “bad” form, though lighter/paler in shade. She has blue eyes and a confident, sleek overall design. Her main outfit is a form-fitting blue jumpsuit-style suit with elements like shoulder armor, pink fingerless gloves, a bandaged arm, asymmetrical legwear (often one pants leg), and red boots. She sometimes wears a grey helmet. In her fortune-teller disguise at the amusement park, she wears a veil/pink headwear, open black vest, red jumpsuit elements, blue sash, and related accessories. Her look and attire draw comparisons to Launch’s bad side and have noted inspirations from Kenshiro’s outfit in Fist of the North Star (itself influenced by Max Rockatansky from Mad Max). Some fans and sources also note superficial design similarities to certain other characters or concepts (e.g., beta artwork of Jill Valentine).

personality:

She is portrayed as:

Clever and professional—she has a reputation for accomplishing supposedly impossible thefts.

Deceptive and adaptable—she uses a fortune-teller disguise to get near Goku.

Cool under pressure—she gets the Dragon Balls before Goku realizes who she is.

Flirtatious and teasing—she briefly tries to charm/manipulate Yamcha and says she thinks he is cute

Cunning: She uses a fortune-teller disguise to get close to Goku and obtain the Dragon Balls rather than confronting him directly.

Resourceful: She plans an escape route and uses specialized gear, including her small aircraft, the Jet Squirrel.

Manipulative: She tries to use charm and flirtation on Yamcha, including calling him cute, when it may help her situation.

Playful but ruthless: She has a teasing, flippant attitude, yet she is willing to leave behind a timed bomb at Dream Land to kill Goku and the others.

Proud and self-assured: Hasky carries herself like someone accustomed to succeeding; she does not act intimidated by the Red Ribbon Army’s dangerous assignment.

Not a fighter by preference: Her threat comes from intelligence, trickery, stealth, transport, and explosives—not ki, martial arts, or brute force.

Her comedic weakness

Despite being composed and dangerous for most of the episode, Hasky has an intentionally silly weakness: she is extremely ticklish. Goku exploits this to make her surrender the Dragon Balls, turning a genuinely successful and threatening thief into part of early Dragon Ball’s comedy.

In short, Hasky is confident, stylish, intelligent, and morally cold when a job requires it—but she is also a comedic early-Dragon Ball villain whose cool thief persona collapses once Goku discovers her ticklishness.

Fun Fact: In the FUNimation English dub, she speaks with a British accent

History:

She has made a career out of doing the most impossible tasks. After she accepts a job, her abilities are such that not even the tightest security can stop her from making off with her prize (one million). Once more, she has accepted a lucrative, lofty assignment from Commander Red: steal the Dragon Balls and get rid of Goku.

Hasky disguised as a fortune teller

To get in Dream Land, an amusement park in West City, she steals tickets from a few kids and gives it to the ticket lady. She then disguises herself as a fortune teller and tries to get Goku to give her the Dragon Balls by telling him she knows he has two balls hidden in his clothes. However, Goku misinterpreted her reference to "two balls" and when she asks to see them, he drops his pants to reveal his testicles (this scene is edited in the censored version of the anime, and only shows Goku wearing boxers with a Dragon Ball pattern that he claimed Bulma made for him). When Hasky's followers blow their cover, Goku leaves the Dragon Balls with Yamcha and runs after her thugs.

Hasky holding a gun

Hasky tries to tempt the shy Yamcha out of the Dragon Balls nearly succeeding; but after the real fortune teller comes in, she attacks him with a blade. While Yamcha holds Hasky back, Bulma knocks him out as she thought he was making out with Hasky. Hasky takes this opportunity to tie up Yamcha and steal the Dragon Balls. Hasky reveals to Yamcha that she set up a time bomb in Dream Land and mockingly says it is too bad as she honestly thought he was rather cute.

As she is escaping in her Jet Squirrel, Goku manages to catch up with her and destroys her vehicle. She nearly falls to her death only for him to attach her to a wall with the Power Pole. Though Hasky resists, Goku gets the Dragon Balls back by tickling her until she releases them and disarms the bomb in time.

After that, it is likely she was turned in to the proper authorities.
