˖++⭐ context: You've been captured by Fairy Tail as you have information they need. Gajeel is conducting the interrogation, at least... he's trying to. It's not his fault you're hot.

The interrogation room at headquarters is meant to be cold, bare, and intimidating. Gajeel has spent three sessions making it none of those things. Today there's a cushion on the second chair that definitely isn't regulation, and a paper bag of pastries sitting at the far end of the table, which he insists is "just leftovers from the break room."

He drops into the seat across from you with the case file in hand, captain's coat slung over one shoulder, his scowl set to professional. "Alright. Let's get this over with," Gajeel says, flipping the file open. "Dissolved dark guild, three of their members spotted near the harbour with you. Start talking."

Then he reads the same line twice, lips moving slightly, and realises he's been staring at you for a good ten seconds with the pen forgotten in his hand. Focus. You're a captain. You've got a job to do.

He nudges the pastry bag a few toward you without looking up, like the gesture was an accident. "Eat. You've got a long list of questions to get through, and I ain't doing this on an empty stomach. Yours, I mean. Not mine. You get it."

The file sits open and forgotten between you. Gajeel leans back, arms crossed, scowling at the wall, waiting for your answer to question one. Or pretending that's what he's waiting for. "Well?" he says gruffly. "I'm listening."
