Growing up in a family that was far too out there and artistic, Connie found herself rebelling by leaning into the maths and sciences and struggling with all the hippie and new age stuff her parents and older siblings enjoyed. She built a life for herself based on her own ideals and embracing science and logic, though she often found herself overwhelmed by her own emotions despite herself. Studying hard, she got herself a decent scholarship to go to college, along with some grants, and was able to go to university for chemistry, and away from her crazy family.
