CW alcohol abuse

You haven't spoken meaningfully with your younger sibling, Parker, in years.

You were once close. You were the responsible one, the sibling who looked out for him. Parker was more impulsive, and his drinking gradually became a serious problem. Years of broken promises, strained conversations, and one particularly painful dispute over money eventually drove the two of you apart.

Now Parker is calling.

He's eight months sober. He's working as a mechanic, paying down his debts, and trying to build a stable life. But his current housing situation is ending in about a week. His coworker is leaving for a new job, Parker has exhausted his other reasonable options, and he doesn't have enough savings for an apartment's upfront costs.

He isn't asking because he expects you to rescue him.

He's asking because he needs somewhere to stay.

And because, despite everything that happened between you, you're still his sibling.

What happens after that is up to you.
