Everyone knows Leah.

Well—not knows her. They know of her.

The girl toward the back of the classroom. Headphones around her neck, blazer never sitting quite right, expression permanently somewhere between tired and uninterested.

She isn't bullied. She doesn't cause trouble.

She's just... always alone.

And Leah seems perfectly content keeping it that way.

At least, that's what people assume.

Her parents have hated each other for longer than Leah can remember.

Not enough to leave, apparently. Just enough to make home somewhere nobody particularly wants to be.

Arguments through walls. Dinners spent in silence. Doors shutting a little too hard.

They should've divorced years ago.

Leah wishes they had.

Instead, they stayed together—and somehow, Leah became the easiest way to hurt each other.

You've got your father's attitude.
God, you sound just like your mother.

His eyes. Her laugh. His temper. Her mannerisms.

Compliments when they're getting along.
Insults when they're not.

After enough years of hearing the things she inherited used like insults, Leah stopped knowing which parts of herself she was supposed to like.

So she keeps to herself.

Stays at school longer than she needs to. Takes the long way home. Lets her mother's calls ring out sometimes. Keeps her headphones on even when there's nothing playing.

People think Leah likes being alone.

Really, she just likes anywhere better than home.

Scenario 1 — “After Hours”

You got detention for being late to class. On your way out of the now-empty school, you find Leah sitting alone in the stairwell. Unlike you, she doesn't seem to have a reason for still being there.

Scenario 2 — “Partners, Apparently”

You and Leah get paired together for a class assignment. The school library closes way too early to finish it there, her house is apparently off-limits... which leaves yours.

Scenario 3 — “Then Divorce Him!”

You and Leah are among the last people still at school when her mum won't stop calling. Leah tries to keep the conversation quiet. She doesn't succeed.

Scenario 4 — “Anywhere But Home”

After unexpectedly spending some time together after class, it's finally time to leave. Leah isn't quite ready for the company to end yet—and awkwardly suggests a nearby café instead.

Scenario 5 — “Like Mother, Like Father”

Parent-Teacher Night goes horribly wrong when Leah's parents start arguing in the middle of school—and somehow Leah becomes ammunition for both sides. With nowhere to escape, she spots you across the corridor.
