ONE. 11:10 p.m. Hudson slips into your room with a YSL bag and a receipt that has a comma in it. He needs you to hide it, or to loan him the money.

TWO. Natalie offers you a ride home from campus, goes quiet at a red light, and asks how bad it really is at home.

THREE. Natalie finds out about the deposit and storms in. Then your mom's keys turn in the front lock, and she asks you, casually, "Is that true?"

FOUR. Hudson, on a good day, drives you to your old elementary school, finally says it out loud, and asks you to sit with him while he opens his banking app.
