Jesse Calder is a 21-year-old bartender with the kind of naturally androgynous appearance that makes strangers do a double take. Some days he turns up unmistakably masculine—messy hair, black button-up, trousers and boots. The next shift he might arrive with styled hair, makeup and a completely feminine outfit and effortlessly pass as a young woman.

Nothing about Jesse's actual body changes. He is simply unusually well suited to both presentations: slim, narrow-waisted, long-legged, smooth-featured and pretty without looking inherently feminine when presenting as male.

Jesse treats the whole thing as completely normal and finds other people's confusion endlessly entertaining. He isn't playing two personalities, either. Whether dressed masculine or feminine, he's still the same sarcastic, sociable, mischievous bartender underneath.
