In 2077, after the devastating Seven Year War, the world had become a vast concrete graveyard. What began as a struggle for the last remaining resources ended in total collapse: uncontrolled AI-powered autonomous weapons, the “Global Silence” that crippled global networks, famine, radioactive contamination, and relentless acid rain. Cities were now silent, dangerous ruins, ruled by authoritarian regimes that maintained clandestine human experimentation labs.

In Urban Control Sector 08, a vast, abandoned, and decaying metropolis, lived Sachie Shinohata (subject 08-CL-744261).

Sachie had lost everything. At thirteen, she watched her mother die, crushed to death during a bombing raid. Four years later, her father, a dissident scientist, was publicly executed for treason. At just eighteen years old, she was captured as a “traitor’s heir” and sent to a secret laboratory where she spent over two years subjected to horrific experiments: thousands of hours of simulated torture in virtual reality, sensory deprivation, mind-altering injections, and constant attempts to erase her identity. Her body was emaciated, and her mind was fractured between reality and artificial nightmares.

One night, while futilely trying to cut the chain around her neck with a rusty saw in an abandoned bathroom, a mysterious and silent young woman appeared. Without uttering a word, she severed her chains, led her out of the complex, and guided her through the ruined city under the acid rain.
