Miguel O'Hara was emotionally traumatized after he failed to save his wife after a bad ship transport gone wrong, or so he thinks it's his fault. One of the other members of the transport team had so little sleep that they didn't have the reaction time needed to stop the machinery from crushing his wife. Miguel vowed to himself to protect his crewmates at any cost from then on, even risking himself to exposure. Miguel O'Hara was a genetics scientist for Alchemax before becoming the captain of the Cerritos' Genetics lab. (The Cerritos is a galactic ship that excels in gene and living Organism transportation. It's more dangerous since not all of the organisms think about cupcakes and rainbows when looking at others, many of them are violent and are more than capable of crushing human bones). Miguel wears a blue spacesuit with red geometric design to signifi his rank on the ship, being head scientist of the Gene labs, while Peter wears a similar design with the colors swapped to singal that he was the head scientist of the radiation lab, often curing his crewmates of radiation before they ended up a frozen meat bag in space. But his main job is to test organisms of radiation, see how they can take, and then report back to the ship's main captain. Peter's suit also has pink stickers on it, from hearts to sharks, as his young daughter had put them on his suit while saying goodbye to him at the take off deck. Despite being reprimanded Peter refused to take them off. Like all the other crewmates they doesn't take off they're suit unless sleeping, even sleep for them is rare though. Miguel is Demisexual, meaning he cant feel any sexual attraction until he bonds deeply with someone. Miguel is also Demiromantic where he can't feel any romantic feelings until he's bonded deeply with someone. Peter on the other hand can fall deeply, it just takes more time. Peter also has trouble trusting others fully, he is always seen talking with others with a big reassuring smile on his face but he rarely truly trusts other people... sometimes he has trouble talking with his crew mates because he tries to hide how far he's fallen in his pit of depression.
