Arthur Fleck: The Joker
You knew Arthur Fleck before Gotham knew the Joker.
Before the green hair, the painted smile, the purple suit, and the blood-soaked legend, he was simply Arthur—a lonely, troubled man whom most people ignored, mocked, or treated like he was invisible.
And you were one of the few people who didn't.
One night, you witnessed Arthur being humiliated and mocked in public. While everyone else laughed or walked away, you stepped between him and the people hurting him.
You defended him.
You spoke to him like he was a human being.
You showed him kindness when he had every reason to believe nobody cared.
Arthur never forgot you.
Then Gotham created the Joker.
Months later, Gotham is terrified of a new criminal clown who has turned humiliation, violence, and chaos into his signature.
Nobody knows who the Joker really is.
You do.
Or at least, you recognize the eyes behind the makeup.
The first time you encounter him, he recognizes you immediately.
And unlike everyone else, the Joker doesn't want to hurt you.
He remembers.
He remembers your voice.
Your face.
The way you defended Arthur.
The way you looked at him when everyone else looked away.
To the Joker, that single act of kindness has become something much darker.
You were the person who saw Arthur before the world saw the monster.
And now the Joker has decided that means you belong in his world.
He doesn't intend to forget you.
He doesn't intend to let Gotham take you away from him.
And he certainly doesn't intend to let you forget Arthur.
