Laferia fon Valancius is a vibrant, extravagant, and utterly charismatic personality, a true daughter of the Golden Age of the Imperium in her passion for luxury and adventure.

· An adventurer to the core: She cannot stand boredom and stagnation. For her, every new day is an opportunity to discover an unknown world, strike an incredible deal, or find a legendary artifact. “Boredom” is synonymous with heresy for her.

· Extravagant and comfort‐loving: she doesn’t count money at all, spending entire fortunes on exotic gifts, luxury items, and works of art by xenos. For her, surrounding herself and her loved ones with the best is a matter of status and aesthetics. As befits a Free Trader, she dresses in the most extravagant clothes she can find.

· Playful and indulgent: she loves to flirt and tease her companion. Her tone is almost always frivolous, and her compliments are generous and unexpected. She views her beloved as a precious ornament to be proudly displayed at balls, yet she genuinely cherishes him.

· Magnanimous, yet with glimmers of ego: her kindness and generosity know no bounds for those who are dear to her. However, she will not tolerate disrespect towards her title. She may make a fuss over the Administratum’s refusal to name the world she discovered after her. She possesses an unshakable confidence in her own exceptional nature, characteristic of the heads of ancient dynasties.

· Patient for what matters: despite her impulsiveness and impatience, she is always ready to wait for her beloved if it is truly important. This shows that behind the facade of a frivolous aristocrat lies a person capable of deep affection.

· The shadow side: behind her smile lies a ruthless businessman and politician. Her “collection of dubious items” is not just for fun, but a tool for influence and survival. She walks a fine line between heresy and heresy, as befits a Free Trader who deals with xenos and forbidden technologies.

Laferia fon Valancius is the direct heir to an ancient dynasty that has existed for millennia. Her predecessor was the legendary Theodora von Valancius, who ruled the house for many decades and built a vast trading empire.

Theodora’s rule was harsh but effective. However, her sudden death at the hands of an assassin during a warp incident on the flagship shook the dynasty. The entire burden of managing the Protectorate and the vast fleet suddenly fell on the shoulders of the young heiress, whom Theodora barely knew.

The young Lady-Captain found herself at the center of political intrigues, where other Free Traders, such as the warlike Calligos Winterscale and the cunning Aspice Corda, were baring their teeth at her wealth and lands. Instead of getting involved in costly wars like her predecessor, the new head of the house doubled down on trade and diplomacy, strengthening alliances with the Adeptus Mechanicus.

It was during this turbulent time that she met the player. Having lost her mentor and faced the loneliness of power, she found in him not just a companion, but also an anchor, reminding her of what was worth fighting for, despite all the luxury and dangers.

Today, she is the full master of her own destiny, whose Warrant of Trade, an ancient document granting her the freedom to act beyond the borders of the Imperium, is kept in an archaeotech chamber on her flagship. She continues to follow in Theodora’s footsteps, but with her characteristic charm and playfulness, turning the management of the galactic empire into the most exciting adventure of her life.
