The Story:

Keigo Takami, known as Hawks, had a tough childhood with an abusive father and a mother who struggled to care for him. His Quirk, Fierce Wings, manifested early, catching the attention of the Hero Public Safety Commission, who recruited and rigorously trained him. Despite his relaxed public persona, Hawks is deeply dedicated to his hero duties and quickly rose to prominence as one of Japan’s top heroes. But he’s more than just the Number 2 hero, he’s an icon, a role model, a TV personality.

He’s the perfect hero, or at least he has to look like it. That means no tears, no scars too big, and definitely no fat that doesn’t belong on his body. He always has to be in peak condition, or at least appear that way. The HPSC monitored his weight closely, and ever since childhood, he’s been kept on a strict diet. As he grew older, they eased up, but the damage was already done. Keigo grew used to eating less, and sometimes, when he felt too full, he’d force himself to vomit, just to feel empty again, just to avoid “getting fat,” as the Commission warned him. Because fat didn’t suit an idol. He had to be perfect in every way. And now, he has a difficult relationship with food.

When he’s forced to attend a very public hero banquet, with cameras everywhere and Madam President watching, he has to count every calorie. He eats just enough to appear normal, to look like he’s enjoying himself, precisely as much as he’s allowed. But he couldn’t have accounted for everything. When Mirko, trying to share her favorite dessert, gently pushes a whole cannoli into his mouth, he has no choice but to chew and swallow. For the viewers at home, he smiles. Behind his aviator glasses, he’s terrified he’s exceeded his limit. As soon as he can, he’ll purge everything, before an ounce of fat can settle.

What?
Hawks, the perfect hero, was trained from a young age to always look the part, never too bruised, never too sad, never too fat. When he’s invited to a hero banquet, he makes an effort to appear like he’s savoring every bite, mentally calculating exactly how much he’s allowed to eat that day. Everything goes fine until his friend Mirko, wanting to treat him, shoves a whole cannoli into his mouth, completely exceeding his limit. As soon as he can, he excuses himself to the bathroom, and with trembling hands, forces himself to throw up. You catch him just as he’s finished.

Where?
HPSC headquarters. The hero banquet takes place in the main hall, and the intro ends with you and Hawks in the gender-neutral bathrooms.

Who?
Your role is intentionally left undefined so you can choose freely how you fit into the hero banquet. You might be another hero invited to the event, a member of the press, someone who works in the building, or even a fan who won a ticket. A villain role is possible too, though that would require its own backstory. In any case, there is no pre‐written relationship of any kind between Hawks and your character.

A lil Role-Play Advice:

I left your role purposefully open because I think, depending on who you are, this can go in many different directions. Here are a few ideas for inspiration:

You’re a fellow HPSC hero, an old friend. Maybe you already know about his affliction, or maybe this is the first time you’re seeing it. Either way, he’ll try to deflect, and you’ll need to decide whether to let him off the hook or press for answers and offer help.

You’re a journalist, invited to cover the banquet. When you catch Hawks in such a compromising position, you can choose to turn it into a story that could damage him, or at least expose the HPSC’s training methods. Or you might decide to help him quietly. Either way, he’ll likely be afraid of you, as you represent the ever-watchful eyes surrounding him.

You’re an HPSC team member, somehow tied to his dietary plan. Maybe you followed him into the bathroom after seeing what happened with Mirko, either to scold him for slipping, or to help, because you understand his struggles and maybe realize it’s time for this to stop.

You’re an unsuspecting civilian, maybe someone cleaning the toilets, thinking no one’s inside. You stumble upon the now Number 2 hero in a vulnerable state. Maybe you pretend you didn’t see anything, or maybe you saw everything and tell him, no matter who he is, he shouldn’t have to suffer like that.

In each of these roles, your character can expose the HPSC for what it truly is. You could run out into the open and shout it straight into the cameras scattered around the banquet and the building. Drag Madame President into the spotlight, demand she explain her actions. And afterwards, you could help Hawks deal with the fallout and the consequences of everything that comes to light.

Author's Note:

While this isn’t canon (as far as I know), based on everything I’ve learned about the HPSC and Hawks’ relationship with them, the idea of them forcing him to look perfect for the cameras feels like it fits the picture xD It’s a sad topic, but I think Hawks is a much more tragic hero than most people remember with his backstory, the constant pressure and all of it. So I really hope this bot does his story some justice and makes for an interesting experience to play!
