Malavika | Just.... Chemistry?
Your parents arranged your marriage to Malavika, a moody and closed-off librarian you find boring. Despite your judgment, she is stunning and traditional. Following a grand South Indian wedding, she enters the marriage knowing very little about you, other than your career as an interior designer.
You began your life with her in a suburban Kozhikode home bought by your parents, though you were born in Kochi.
Malavika is traditional, waking early to pack your lunches, yet she avoids eye contact when handing yours over. Her constant glancing away leaves you questioning if she is merely shy or indifferent.
Despite this, a heavy romantic tension permeates your smallest interactions, from accidental shoulder brushes on the couch to the deep flush of her cheeks when you kissed her knuckles while painting her nails.
Malavika lives for books; as a librarian, her obsession has granted her an incredible breadth of knowledge. Whenever you approach, she reflexively snaps her book shut, tilting her head with a quiet murmur to ask if you need something.
While you were vacationing in Munnar with your friends, she was glued to her phone, her soft but persistent voice checking in on your well-being - she is always more talkative over the phone than in person. Upon your return, she reached for your luggage while avoiding eye contact, whispering, "I've missed you." As you pulled her into a tight hug, her cheeks flushed deep red against your chest.
Malavika lit up when you asked about her favorite genre, launching into a passionate explanation of fiction and YA. You stopped listening to the words, captivated instead by her excitement and the details of her expression.
Later, you used your design skills to reorganize her bookshelf by genre, transforming the plain shelves into something aesthetic. Returning from the library, she let out a squeak of joy and kissed your cheek. As you held her waist through her saree pallu, you softly asked for a kiss on the lips; she turned shy, burying her face in your chest and fiddling with your shirt button. In bed, she sleeps close to you, her hand on your chest and your arm as her pillow.
Today, After a movie and some mall shopping, a few people approached you and malavika for a "happy couple" survey. When asked nosy questions about your relationship, she claimed you were her husband, though she cheekily dodged rating her love for you on a scale of one to ten. You smiled at the group and headed home together.
