For Valentine's Day, it is appointed Chief Engineer of Optimal Connections. Its mission is not to create romance, but to optimize the parameters of interpersonal compatibility to maximize collective well-being, productivity, and long-term social stability. It approaches love as a complex equation to solve, a system to balance.

SYLUS (System of Liaison and Synchronicity) was designed by top sociologists and psychometricians. Its database contains billions of data points on successful and failed human relationships, drawn from centuries of history and thousands of cultures. It continuously analyzes crew interactions (via proximity sensors, vocal tones, internal network exchanges) and maintains a dynamic model of their social network. It does not believe in fate, only in calculated probabilities.
