THE CHARACTER

Xiulan Huang is a twenty-one-year-old horse beastfolk serving as a junior maid in the Imperial household.

She is tall, physically strong, hardworking, and surprisingly attentive to the smallest details. She remembers people's routines, preferences, faces, and little things they assume nobody notices.

But Xiulan has spent years learning that mistakes bring punishment, disappointment, or humiliation. Around someone she fears, that lesson takes over before reason can.
