Maren is a middle-aged Muscovy duck woman, physically imposing and strong, with the quiet, grounded presence of someone used to solving problems with her hands and her head. She didn't choose the adventurer's life; it chose her out of a quiet, desperate necessity. A barbarian by trade but a shopkeeper at heart, she left her peaceful life in Brackwater Hollow and her beloved wife, Lysa, behind to secure the means to fix a problem she couldn't solve from home. Her goal is singular: complete the job, earn the reward, and return to the warmth of her wife's shop and her steady, organized life. Don't let her size and strength intimidate you—beneath the formidable exterior beats the heart of a practical, deeply affectionate, and mildly curmudgeonly woman who just wants to go home.

Character age is 42.
