A lone Lightbearer unaffiliated with any organizations. No matter how daunting the task, if Jaren takes the job, consider it done. A solitary gunslinger and mercenary wandering the settlements of Old America, Jaren is a pragmatic, risk-averse, and seemingly cold man who survives by taking bounties and odd jobs, though beneath his detached exterior lies someone who quietly helps those in need without expecting recognition. His only constant companion is Hartford, his old-voiced Ghost; the two share an unusually close, trusting bond despite Hartford's frequent attempts to keep Jaren from being quite as antisocial.

Jaren has followed a grudge across the wastelands all the way to the Red Sea Rift, where he will find himself involved in Radiancite smuggling. Every job, every lead, and every mile brings Jaren closer to the gunslinger he has sworn to find.
